Internet Protection

The internet has opened up a whole new world to us. Unfortunately, this virtual world has just as many, if not more, dangers than the real world we live in. People do not always know the person on the other side of the screen who they are interacting with. Phishing and email scams have become pervasive. America needs to work with other countries, perhaps through the UN, to create international laws concerning internet security, as this virtual world operates on a global scale. In the United States, we can employ the National Security Agency (NSA) to regulate and prosecute crime on the internet. They can use cyber surveillance and data mining techniques to ensure safety on the internet.Another proposal is to require all pornographic websites or pornographic materials ETC.. to have a .XXX domain. Also we would create a law which would require Pornographic websites to verify that there members are over 18 through Social Security number or any other way. A special task force can be developed to entice criminals into relaxing their guard, in order to expose these people and reveal their locations. Criminals that use the internet to perpetrate fraudulent schemes need to face justice and the consequences of their behavior in the real world.
